CYDT STUDIO POLICIES & EXPECTATIONS
DRESS CODE FOR CLASSES
All dancers are required to follow the CYDT dress code. Absolutely no street clothing is permitted unless specifically requested. Improper clothing can negatively impact technique, precision, floor grip, and visibility in the studio. The CYDT dress code ensures that dancers can move to the best of their ability and focus on their steps—not on what they are wearing.
HAIR, BRAIDS & EXTENSIONS
All long hair and braids must be tied back neatly and secured away from the face and neck.
Beads are strongly discouraged for safety and to minimize distractions.
Absolutely no du-rags, headwraps, head ties, bandanas, shower caps, or bonnets are permitted in the studio.
JEWELLERY & HEADWEAR
No body jewelry (including earrings, chains, bracelets, or ankle beads) is allowed in classes or performances unless specifically required as part of a costume.
Eyeglasses may be worn in class but must be safely secured.

Snow Days: In the event of a snowstorm, please call the studio after 3:00 PM on weekdays and 7:30 AM on weekends for a recorded update on whether classes will be held.
Updates will also be posted on our Instagram page: @cydt_toronto.
Parents will not receive individual phone calls. Please ensure the studio has your current email address to stay informed.
GENERAL STUDIO POLICIES
Parents are kindly asked to notify the studio or inform the teacher when their child will be absent.
Cell phones are strictly prohibited during class time. All student phones must be placed in the basket provided on the instructor’s shelf and remain there until class ends.
Electronic devices (games, tablets, phones) must not be plugged into hallway outlets.
Video recording during class is permitted only with prior permission.
Students waiting for their class must remain supervised and are not allowed in the studio space unsupervised.
Please help keep our facilities clean: remove all boots and outdoor shoes in carpeted areas.
Outdoor shoes are not permitted on studio floors.
CANCELLED CLASS POLICY
If classes are cancelled due to teacher illness or performance obligations, a make-up class will be scheduled, and parents will be notified of the date.
If classes are cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., inclement weather, power outages), the classes will not be rescheduled. Students may request a make-up class if an appropriate level is available.
General rule of thumb: If schools are closed, CYDT will also be closed. Notices will be posted in the Parents WhatsApp Information Group.
