OUR PROGRAM

CYDT offers Recreational, Competitive and Performance programs. Classes offered include: ballet, acro, jazz, hip hop, afro-caribbean, tap, modern, and lyrical. The program is designed to develop coordination, rhythm, strength, posture, flexibility, as well commitment, discipline and teamwork. We encourage our dancers to challenge themselves and to always strive for their personal excellence.

  • Our recreational program caters to those who want to dance for pure enjoyment and is offered from age 3 and up!  Dancers can dance for as many weekly hours as they wish! and perform routines at our mini-recital in December, and the end of year recital in June.

  • The competitive program offers students the opportunity to compete in a variety of competitions throughout Ontario, work in classes and choreography specifically designed for the competitive stage. Students learn to take their dance to the ultimate level by honing their skills as individual dancers and as a team, and commit to 5-8hrs of weekly training.

  • Jazz is an energetic style that combines sharp and sassy movements often to popular music. This is a fun class using stretching, shaking, and rhythmic movements in repetitive patterns

    Tap develops a student’s rhythm, coordination, and musicality. Students enjoy making sounds

    with their shoes in time to the music subtly learn syncopated

  • Afro Caribbean dance is an ethnic style that is derived from is afro-centric culture of the Caribbean. This energetic style of movement includes a combination of drama, theatre and dance. This discipline will put a comedic and dramatic twist to any dance class.

  • Follows the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), ballet technique. Students develop their posture, and graceful movement skills while building their focus and discipline

  • Acro is like gymnastics and blends acrobatic and dance movements. The style helps the dancer build strength, flexibility, and balance. The children have great fun learning how the body can be used to make different intricate shapes.

  • Tap develops a student’s rhythm, coordination, and musicality. Students enjoy making sounds
